Ixtapa
El Palmar
Revel in the golden sand and jewel toned sea in one of the most emblematic beaches of Ixtapa. This stretch of beach runs parallel with beachfront pools and hotels, making it an easy access to many tourists. At the end of this beach near the marina is Las Escolleras. Whether you’re using your body or a board, this end of the beach is where you can find barrels. El Palmarstretches approximately two kilometers long and is best for surfing, jet skiing, parasailing or a nice sunrise of sunset run on the sand. An important piece of information to highlight about this beach is its certification as a clean beach by the International Blue Flag Organization. Due to the great quality of its waters, it is the only beach in Guerrero that has this honor. For the locals, it is the most famous beach in the entire region; with its smooth golden sand and beautiful scenery, especially at sunset. El Palmar has this name due to the large plantation of coconut palms that once existed there.
